married in the past. Yet, brides usually wore elaborate ensembles or heavy
robes, velvets and brocades. They wore mauves, soft grays, pastels,
browns, reds and earth tones as well as being overly decorated with
jewels. Thus, overnight, the white, feminine wedding turned into tradition.
